The Jubes

So I finally decided I should add some photos to this wordy account of the randomness of my own brain, and of course who should get the honor of being first to appear? My Grommie bear
of course. We are about to bring home another fluffy canine tomorrow, so I figured our groobs should have at least one solo moment to shine. I hadn't had a dog since I was a child, but I truly forgot how wonderful they are, and how attached you get to them. Our westie, is a complete baby, and insists on being underfoot at all times, or on your lap. It's pretty hard to resist him, when he wanders over, climbs on you, and settles his little head on your shoulder. I give into those big brown pools for eyes every time. Of course he can be a complete rascal, when we have forgotten to move the garbage bag to a Gromit free zone, and we find it strewn all over the backyard or kitchen. But nothing makes us laugh more often than the antics of our terrier. And he is so sweet and loving, you can never stay mad for long. At this exact moment he is standing over my sleeping husband, nudging him and trying to lick him awake. He figures if he is up, so should everyone else be.

We are trying to think of names for his new sister. She is a cairn terrier, so she will look very similar to him, but darker and more scruffy. The obvious choice is Wallace of course, but unless we changed it to Wallis, I think it's too masculi
ne, and a bit cliched. We are thinking maybe we will call her Cuba, or something to remind us of our wonderful honeymoon. With Gromit, he has so many nicknames that it potentially is irrelevant, as it is seldom that we actually call him his name. Thankfully he responds to all of them, Puppy-guts included. We have started calling anything that is remotely cute Jubes though, so I can see how confused our poor pups are going to be if we call them both that. Hopefully the new one will inspire her own set of unique and bizarre monikers.

In purchasing the new cairn, it seems we are a bit impulsive, and probably have put the cart before the horse, as already we are panicking about what possible vehicle will be necessary to transport all three of us, two dogs, and will still have room for the baby that is hopefully going to arrive sometime in the next couple years. We are not minivan people to say the least, and while we love the new FJ Cruiser, we have a hard time justifying the amount of gas necessary to fuel that beast, and would like to find something a little more environmentally conscious, and economical as well. In anycase considering a vehicle, is not enough to deter us from adding another pooch to our ever growing family, and we have decided the benefits outweigh the consequences.
