Armed and Dangerous
We were robbed again tonight. Monday was a note passer, yesterday was masked robbers that were scared off, but tonight we got the full blown takeover. The other days this week, I was present but removed from the action. Tonight I had a gun in my face. Tonight it was me trying to explain to the crazy guys who broke in about our timelocks. Tonight it was me emptying what cash was accessible into their bags. Tonight is was me that was threatened with being "made an example" of. Tonight it was me filling out suspect description forms, witness statements and being examined by EMS. During the actual incident, I went thru moments of complete disbelief... it was almost like a joke. Then I wondered if this was it, if I was going to ever see my husband or my daughter again. If my life was going to end on a bank floor. I don't even know if the guns were real, but when they are against your head, and there is a supposed "bomb" in the building, a million things go through your mind. It was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me, but I learnt that I do not get hysterical under extreme stress, and that all my training came flooding back. It felt like a dream sequence, and I still cannot really believe it happened. But I am shookup and nothing more, and for that I am extremely grateful.

The Jubes
So I finally decided I should add some photos to this wordy account of the randomness of my own brain, and of course who should get the honor of being first to appear? My Grommie bear
of course. We are about to bring home another fluffy canine tomorrow, so I figured our groobs should have at least one solo moment to shine. I hadn't had a dog since I was a child, but I truly forgot how wonderful they are, and how attached you get to them. Our westie, is a complete baby, and insists on being underfoot at all times, or on your lap. It's pretty hard to resist him, when he wanders over, climbs on you, and settles his little head on your shoulder. I give into those big brown pools for eyes every time. Of course he can be a complete rascal, when we have forgotten to move the garbage bag to a Gromit free zone, and we find it strewn all over the backyard or kitchen. But nothing makes us laugh more often than the antics of our terrier. And he is so sweet and loving, you can never stay mad for long. At this exact moment he is standing over my sleeping husband, nudging him and trying to lick him awake. He figures if he is up, so should everyone else be.
We are trying to think of names for his new sister. She is a cairn terrier, so she will look very similar to him, but darker and more scruffy. The obvious choice is Wallace of course, but unless we changed it to Wallis, I think it's too masculi
ne, and a bit cliched. We are thinking maybe we will call her Cuba, or something to remind us of our wonderful honeymoon. With Gromit, he has so many nicknames that it potentially is irrelevant, as it is seldom that we actually call him his name. Thankfully he responds to all of them, Puppy-guts included. We have started calling anything that is remotely cute Jubes though, so I can see how confused our poor pups are going to be if we call them both that. Hopefully the new one will inspire her own set of unique and bizarre monikers.
In purchasing the new cairn, it seems we are a bit impulsive, and probably have put the cart before the horse, as already we are panicking about what possible vehicle will be necessary to transport all three of us, two dogs, and will still have room for the baby that is hopefully going to arrive sometime in the next couple years. We are not minivan people to say the least, and while we love the new FJ Cruiser, we have a hard time justifying the amount of gas necessary to fuel that beast, and would like to find something a little more environmentally conscious, and economical as well. In anycase considering a vehicle, is not enough to deter us from adding another pooch to our ever growing family, and we have decided the benefits outweigh the consequences.

hello married life!
in a month..
everything will be different
i will have a husband, a mortgage, a backyard. A family all of my own and a home. I will be someone's wife, spouse, life partner. I will be a newlywed, a honeymooner.
it will be the best day of my life.

weep
i am walking up the aisle to "answer" by sarah mclachlan. it is romantic, reverent, swelling, sentimental and everything that moment should be. I can barely compose myself listening to it now. thank goodness my little angel daughter will be there to hold my hand.

You are probably thinking the exact same thing about me. Just so you know, this is all new information to me, due to self destructive curiousity and a stupid link on this damn machine. And to you? That's what you get when you publish an on line record of lies. But don't worry, I'm done. Thankfully I have been for long time now, but not with all the information. I now know both sides of the story, not just one version of it, carefully tweaked by a deceitful coward. And Sharmiisms? Are you f*$king kidding me? I am so thankful now for what I have and what I had to lose to take me there. I don't mean to be so vindictive, but lets just say my cup of melted cubes are re frozen, that stupid coldplay song is long gone out of my head and my eyes are wide open. Don't even bother trying to respond or defend you or the other. I won't return. It was just a one time only, enlightened trip down memory lane.
I love these people that wander into forbidden territory, and then wanna sue you for damage caused while they are there. Guess what? You were never invited. Not only is it enough for them to trespass where they do not belong, but then they want to tack up maps of the area on every tree, as though they actually have a clue where they stand. You dont. You dont know a stick from a fencepost or a rock from a bottlecap. Stop reading between the lines and into dates and looking into every nook and cranny for a truth you are going to invent anyway. I know you want to hang yourself on the gallows of martyrdom, and pretend like you are some innocent victim and the whole world has done you wrong... but please, have some dignity and go away. If you want the truth here it is... sometimes things just dont work out. sometimes people have good intentions that never come to fruition the way they wish. sometimes you cant forsee the future. sometimes your plans go awry. sometimes you end up hurting people inadvertantly. sometimes pain is unavoidable. sometimes you dont know the best way to handle a situation, so you just let it unfold. sometimes you make mistakes.
I am in love with a good man. We got here almost by accident. Both of us wearing war wounds and shell-shocked. We hurt people along the way, and oh did people hurt us. I am not going to apologize any longer for finding the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with. For finding the person who showed me that I was worth far more than I was settling for. For loving someone completely... flaws and all.
If that is too much for you, stay off of here, and move on with your life and accept that what obviously was not right for you, is perfect for someone else.

Countdown
Four months today until the wedding. Wow. I have lots done though, so I am feeling fairly unanxious. It is the whole home buying process that is kind of frazzling... it's a little much to add at the same time. Either way, I could be complaining about worse things, so I guess I will be grateful for blessings instead of whining. Life is so stable and grounded now, even with all the surrounding chaos. I guess that is what love does, when it comes finally, for real.

mouse in may
sasquatch - day 1
We started out bright and early, ahem... okay not so early.... friday morning. It was almost 11 am by the time we were leaving Calgary's city limits. Great day for a drive though... sunny and clear and we had a plethora of good tuneage to accompany us. The drive was fairly uneventful until I decided for no apparent reason that Route 93 seemed infinitly more appealing than Route 95. Gav was fairly happy with the hour detour. We stopped at the Walmart in Sandpoint so my passenger could purchase some car toys... pastels and a sketchbook... had a bite to eat and made our way to Vantage, WA. After a ridiculously long wait at the campground check-in... we got to set up camp in the dark. The incredibly starry sky made up for the lack of daylight... it was fairly amazing. The queen sized 3 foot air mattress we slept on was also fairly amazing. It's hardly camping.. but I was a fan.
Day 2:
The heat woke us up early... so we got ready and went into George for a little Subway before hitting the festival site. The lineup was long, and it was hot... but by noon we had found a place to sit... and were starting to blister and burn in the scorching afternoon sun. It was amazingly hot. But the music was so worth any discomfort.

Happy new year fans and friends and small and large relations.
It is cold. It makes my lungs hurt.
New years eve was fun for once; lobster feast and chocolate fondue at dave and reena's. of course there were also oysters and sushi and bacon-wrapped scallops. Let's not forget the tuborg and support of chilean economies, malcolm appetizers and dallas party hat tricks, lets dress up and hide in the bathroom and listen to modest mouse real loud and janes' addiction and a turtle named bill murray.
and next day spicy brunch buffet with some chai nog .
Yeehaw. It's Janvier.

Holly Day
It's been awhile... where was I?
Oh ya... Dal and I went to Fairmont for the week before Christmas .... the condo was full up of brown indians, mostly from the Mathews side. The white ones enjoyed being the minority. We had a pretty good time I'd say. Drank too much eggnog (Dal didn't know eggnog before fairmont, but they made friends real fast), ate some singapore curry noodles, and generally napped in the loft and sat in the hottub under huge flakes. Hard life huh?
I recommend a tasty little spot called Lussier (White Swan) Hot Springs in the east kootenays just off of hwy 93. They are quite amazing under a full moon, or at any time I would imagine...
Today is Christmas Day and I am missing my daughter and Frederick ( i thought I would never say that!)... but my mom made her usual christmas extravaganza, and I have overeaten once again, and really what else is christmas about? Starbucks was even open today, so I started the day off with a chai, and it doesn't get much better than that for me.
Wishing everyone lots of fuzzy mittens and starry skies.
