Wonderbread

After a brief hiatus from one of my faves, Regina Spektor, I found myself standing in the kitchen with goosebumps running up my arms upon reacquainting myself with her brilliant lyrics and memorable voice. I've listened to Samson and Delilah so many times I know the words by heart, but this day they really became something I had never noticed before and sent little chills coursing thru me. Music can be a loyal friend or powerful adversary. You pick.

Just finished Sidney Poitier's memoir, A Measure of a Man. Haven't fully digested it yet. Not sure what I think, but I can say it wasn't what I expected. The book reveals him as a man like any other, weakness and flaws co-existing peacefully alongside an often startling clarity about the human experience.
