sasquatch - day 1
We started out bright and early, ahem... okay not so early.... friday morning. It was almost 11 am by the time we were leaving Calgary's city limits. Great day for a drive though... sunny and clear and we had a plethora of good tuneage to accompany us. The drive was fairly uneventful until I decided for no apparent reason that Route 93 seemed infinitly more appealing than Route 95. Gav was fairly happy with the hour detour. We stopped at the Walmart in Sandpoint so my passenger could purchase some car toys... pastels and a sketchbook... had a bite to eat and made our way to Vantage, WA. After a ridiculously long wait at the campground check-in... we got to set up camp in the dark. The incredibly starry sky made up for the lack of daylight... it was fairly amazing. The queen sized 3 foot air mattress we slept on was also fairly amazing. It's hardly camping.. but I was a fan.
Day 2:
The heat woke us up early... so we got ready and went into George for a little Subway before hitting the festival site. The lineup was long, and it was hot... but by noon we had found a place to sit... and were starting to blister and burn in the scorching afternoon sun. It was amazingly hot. But the music was so worth any discomfort.
